Things are about to heat up and we are looking forward to another amazing summer on the Waterfront!  Here is a link to an updated event schedule for you so that you may plan accordingly.

Here are the main events for the next month:

• Bridge inspections are in the pipeline so please check the Port website notices for updates.
  • Intermittent Bridge Closures: June 24-28 between the hours of 7 am and 3 pm. Expect delays of up to 30 minutes or more depending on traffic

• The 4th of July Fireworks are on the schedule and a permit is in place for the display.  Please be advised that the SPIT will be closed on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 3rd, and reopened by noon on Friday, July 5th.  Parking is free on the waterfront on July 4th.  There is no overnight camping.

• KB4C (Kiteboard for Cancer) will be held Friday, Saturday, & Sunday, July 5-7 at the Event Site.  They have rented the grass area however the parking lot will remain open for Pay-to-Park customers and passholders.  Lot #1 is available for overflow parking.

• The next CGW2 Swap meet will be held on Saturday, July 6th in Lot #1.  This is one of their main fundraisers so if you have any sporting gear hanging around your garage not getting used, or items that no longer spark joy, why not free up some space?  A little “Marie Kondo” decluttering could bring joy to someone else.

• The Gorge Downwind Paddle Champs outrigger races start on Monday, July 8th and run through Saturday, July 13th.  The event headquarters are in Stevenson and there are races of various lengths scheduled throughout the week.  The main big race that impacts the waterfront is typically at the end of the week however that could change anytime due to wind conditions.  The finish line for that race is at the Waterfront Park Swim Beach.  The event is sold out with 850 participants signed up. 

The Port is planning on opening the Event Site restroom this weekend if we get a few more summer hires trained and ready to go.  Now that school is out, we are getting a few more applicants.  If you know of anyone looking for work we still have some openings in our Facility Department for seasonal summer help:  See our Employment page. Wages range from $17 – $22 per hour.   These are the folks that mow, weed whip, empty trash cans, and clean the restrooms.  Weekends are required.

Eventos y Actualizaciones en el Waterfront

¡Las cosas están a punto de calentarse y estamos esperando otro verano increíble en el Waterfront! Aquí hay un enlace a un calendario de eventos actualizado para que puedas planificar en consecuencia.

Aquí están los eventos principales para el próximo mes:

• Inspecciones del puente en proceso, así que por favor revisa los avisos en el sitio web del Puerto para actualizaciones.
  • Cierres Intermitentes del Puente: del 24 al 28 de junio entre las 7am y las 3pm. Espera demoras de hasta 30 minutos o más dependiendo del tráfico.

•  KB4C (Kiteboard para el Cáncer) se llevará a cabo el viernes, sábado y domingo, del 5 al 7 de julio en el Event Site. Han alquilado el área de césped, pero el estacionamiento seguirá abierto para los clientes de Pay-to-Park y los titulares de pases. El lote #1 está disponible para estacionamiento adicional.

• El próximo mercado de intercambio de CGW2 se llevará a cabo el sábado 6 de julio en el lote #1. Este es uno de sus principales eventos de recaudación de fondos, así que si tienes equipo deportivo en tu garaje que no estás usando, o artículos que ya no te traen alegría, ¿por qué no liberar un poco de espacio? Un poco de “Marie Kondo” podría traer alegría a otra persona.

• Las carreras de canoas del Gorge Downwind Paddle Champs comienzan el lunes 8 de julio y continúan hasta el sábado 13 de julio.
