2026 Waterfront Parking Information

Welcome to the Hood River waterfront!  Please help keep our parks and beaches welcoming and accessible to all.

PAYMENT FOR PARKING IS REQUIRED IN ALL PORT AREAS FROM 8:00 A.M. TO 6:00 P.M. 

OVERNIGHT PARKING/CAMPING IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.  

NO PARKING ALLOWED WHEN PARKS OR PARKING LOTS ARE CLOSED (SEE BELOW FOR CLOSING TIMES).

AFTER HOURS PARKING ISSUES: CALL PORT SECURITY (541) 387-2822, operated by HRS.

HOW TO PAY FOR PARKING:

Hourly parking may be only made by using the Text-to-Pay option, the Passport Parking App, or the ParkMobile App. If you do not already have either app dowloaded, please use the Text-to-Pay option, as it may be difficult to dowload apps without a WiFi connection. 

Text-to-Pay Instructions:

To pay for parking using the Text-to-Pay option, text "Park" to 30844 or 77223, then enter the zone number displayed on the parking signs. 

Zone numbers: 

  • 86861 – Hook, Portway Ave, N 1st Street, Nichols Basin
  • 86862 – Event Site, West Jensen, & Maritime
  • 86863 - Marina
  • 86864 – Lot #1 & Anchor Way Lot

Rules & Rates: 

  • Payment is required daily from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.,
  • Waterfront parking is $2.75 per hour, up to $15.00 per day in all zones. A $0.40 processing fee is charged for each parking payment. 
  • Trailers must be attached to tow vehicle at all times (no dropping trailers). 

NO OVERNIGHT PARKING OR CAMPING ON PORT PROPERTY.  VIOLATORS WILL BE TICKETED AND TOWED.

It is very important to review all your parking details before purchasing your time. Parking session cannot be adjusted once confirmed. If Parking Enforcement Officers are not able to match the license plate on your vehicle with the transaction data, you will receive a citation.

2026 Annual Parking Passes

2026 Annual Parking Passes are available for purchase online or at the Port office during regular business hours. Annual passes are valid year-round for the calendar year in which they are purchased. The Port offers three types of annual passes for select Port-owned waterfront parking lots. Overlength vehicles, RVs, and trailers are not allowed in West Jensen, Maritime, or Anchor Way lots. Annual passes are not  valid at The Hook, Nichols Basin or for street parking on Portway Ave or N 1st Street.

Vehicle Types Allowed and Hours of Operation for each location 

-          The Hook – Open for parking 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM. No Parking allowed after 10:00 PM. Regular length vehicles only. Overlength vehicles (over 20’ in total length) are not allowed. RV’s, Campers, or Trailers are NOT allowed even they are less than 20 feet on length.

-          West Portway (street parking): Open for parking 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM. No Parking allowed after 11:00 PM. Regular length vehicles (up to 20’ in total length) and overlength (over 20’ in total length) are allowed. Commercial vehicles NOT allowed.

-          West Jensen – Open for parking 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM. No Parking allowed after 11:00 PM. Regular length vehicles only. Overlength vehicles (over 20’ in total length) are not allowed. RV’s, Campers, or Trailers are NOT allowed even they are less than 20 feet in length.

-          Event Site Lot – Open for parking 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM. No Parking allowed after 10:00 PM.  Regular length vehicles (up to 20’ in total length) and overlength (over 20’ in total length) are allowed and must park in designated spaces.

-          East Maritime Lot - Open for parking 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM. No Parking allowed after 11:00 PM. Regular length vehicles only. Overlength vehicles (over 20’ in total length) are not allowed. RV’s, Campers, or Trailers are NOT allowed even if they are less than 20 feet in length.

-          1st Street & East Portway (street parking) – Open for parking 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM. No Parking allowed after 11:00 PM.
Regular length vehicles (up to 20’ in total length) and overlength (over 20’ in total length) are allowed. Commercial vehicles NOT allowed.

-          Lot 1 Gravel Lot – Open for parking 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM. No Parking allowed after 10:00 PM. Regular length vehicles (up to 20’ in total length) and overlength (over 20’ in total length) are allowed. RV’s, Campers, and Trailers are allowed to park in this lot.

-          Anchor Way Lot - Open for parking 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM. No Parking allowed after 11:00 PM. Regular length vehicles only. Overlength vehicles (over 20’ in total length) are not allowed. RV’s, Campers, or Trailers are NOT allowed even if they are less than 20 feet in length.

-          Nichols Basin - Open for parking 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM. No Parking allowed after 10:00 PM. Regular length vehicles only. Overlength vehicles (over 20’ in total length) are not allowed. RV’s, Campers, or Trailers are NOT allowed even if they are less than 20 feet in length.

-          Marina Boat Ramp Lot - Open for parking 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM. No Parking allowed after 10:00 PM. Regular length vehicles (up to 20’ in total length) and overlength vehicles (over 20’ in total length) are allowed. Only vehicles with trailers are allowed in overlength parking spots.

-          Marina Green Gravel Lot - Open for parking 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM. No Parking allowed after 10:00 PM. Regular length vehicles (up to 20’ in total length) and overlength vehicles (over 20’ in total length) are allowed.

-          Marina Beach Lot – Open for parking 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM. No Parking allowed after 10:00 PM. Regular length vehicles (up to 20’ in total length) and overlength (over 20’ in total length) are allowed and must park in designated spaces.

-          Marina Moorage Lot – Open for parking 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM. No Parking allowed after 11:00 PM. Regular length vehicles only. Overlength vehicles (over 20’ in total length) are not allowed. RV’s, Campers, or Trailers are NOT allowed even if they are less than 20 feet in length.

-          Spit – Open for parking 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM. No Parking allowed after 11:00 PM.

Violation Penalties 
  1. Non-payment (per parking space) – $50
  2. Hourly Overtime Parking – $20
  3. Parking in Unauthorized Space – $50
  4. After Hours Parking (anytime between 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. all Zones AND after 9:00 p.m. in the Event Site Parking Lot) – $90
  5. Parking in Handicap, Fire Lane or Other Prohibited Space – $75
  6. Non-payment of violation penalty after 30 days of issuance – $25
  7. Non-payment of violation penalty after 60 days of issuance – $25
  8. Non-payment of violation penalty after 90 days of issuance – Referred to collections, will include collections fees assessed by collection agency.
Parking Agreement - Terms and Conditions 

By entering and allowing your vehicle to remain in this Pay to Park Zone (“Zone”), a vehicle’s registered owner and/or operator (“You”) agree to enter into a contract with the Port of Hood River (“POHR”). If You do not accept the following terms and conditions, immediately remove your vehicle from the Zone to avoid POHR enforcement/collection actions.

  1. You Must:
    • Pre-pay charges for each parking space used as posted at parking areas and on the POHR website, www.portofhoodriver.com (“Website”), incorporated herein by reference.
    • Not park longer than the maximum allowed time.
    • Only park your vehicle in a space in the Zone where you paid to park. Payment only allows parking in that Zone.
    • Obey all POHR official signs and regulations.
  2. You Agree to:
    • Pay unpaid parking charges and late payment charges as posted on Port Website when due, and unpaid charges and late payment charges being sent to collections.
    • Notices of parking complaints and warnings being affixed to your vehicle windshield or sent to you by mail.
    • Indemnify the POHR against any loss or damage arising out of your negligence or breach of these terms and conditions.
    • Resolve any dispute related to this agreement through the POHR internal resolution process, initiated by filing a POHR Dispute Form available at the POHR website or office. Only after filing a POHR Dispute Form and exhausting the POHR internal dispute resolution process may you seek redress in court. You agree to venue in Hood River County, Oregon.
  3. POHR is not responsible for any injury, loss or damage to You or your vehicle or its contents. You will hold POHR harmless for any damage to your vehicle other than that caused by the negligence of POHR.
  4. If any provision of this agreement is found to be unenforceable, the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions will not be impaired.
