BRIDGE CLOSURES AND DAYTIME TRAFFIC IMPACTS SCHEDULED

HOOD RIVER, Ore. (Sept. 4, 2026) — The Hood River–White Salmon Bridge will have multiple overnight closures and daytime traffic interruptions beginning Sept. 21 for planned maintenance and repair work.

The mechanical and electrical work will maintain the bridge lift system, while the steel and coating repairs will help keep the existing bridge operational until the replacement bridge is completed.

Mechanical and Electrical Work

  • Full overnight closures: Sept. 21, 22, 23 and 24, from midnight to 6 a.m.
  • Daytime work: Sept. 21, 22 and 23, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Most daytime traffic interruptions will last approximately 15 minutes. Longer interruptions of up to approximately one hour may occur from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.

Bridge Steel and Coating Maintenance Repairs

  • Full overnight closures: Sept. 29 through Oct. 12, Monday through Friday, from midnight to 5:30 a.m.

Travelers should plan ahead, expect delays and use an alternate route during full closures.
