HOOD RIVER, Ore. (Oct. 2, 2026) — The Hood River–White Salmon Bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic for a marine vessel lift on Oct. 6 and for overnight steel and coating maintenance beginning Oct. 7.

Marine vessel lift — Oct. 6
The bridge will be fully closed to vehicle traffic on Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 9 to 10 a.m. to allow passage of Tug Granite Point. Travelers should plan for the closure and allow time for backed-up traffic to clear after the bridge reopens.

Overnight maintenance closures — Oct. 7–23
The contractor has rescheduled the steel and coating maintenance repairs. The overnight closures did not begin Sept. 29 as previously announced.

The updated schedule is:

  • Full overnight closures: Oct. 7 through Oct. 23, Monday through Friday, from midnight to 5:30 a.m.
  • No weekend closures are scheduled.

The bridge will be fully closed to vehicle traffic during these hours. Travelers should plan ahead and use an alternate route.

Additional bridge work requiring single-lane closures is expected following the overnight closures. Dates and times are still being confirmed and will be announced as soon as they are available.

The Port of Hood River appreciates the public’s continued patience and cooperation during these closures.
