Bridge traffic impacts planned Nov. 10–13 for replacement project field activities

HOOD RIVER, Ore. (Oct. 15, 2026) — The Hood River–White Salmon Bridge Authority will conduct preparatory field activities on and near the Hood River–White Salmon Bridge from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 10–13. Travelers should expect intermittent traffic stops and several extended closures.
Intermittent rolling stops will occur throughout each day, with delays of no more than 15 minutes expected. The Bridge Authority also anticipates three to four full bridge closures of up to one hour each day.
The activities are weather-dependent, so specific closure times cannot be provided in advance. Crews will make every effort to avoid peak travel periods and minimize disruptions.
The field activities, including drone operations, will help the Bridge Authority prepare for test pile installation expected early next year. Test piling will allow engineers to monitor how the existing bridge responds to vibrations and other effects associated with pile installation. The results will help the Bridge Authority plan future construction activities for the Hood River-White Salmon Bridge Replacement Project.
The Bridge Authority is leading the replacement project. For project information and updates, visit www.hoodriverbridge.org.
Travelers should plan ahead, allow additional travel time and watch for traffic control.
