HOOD RIVER, Ore. (Sept. 23, 2026) — The mechanical and electrical maintenance scheduled for Sept. 21–24 on the Hood River–White Salmon Bridge has been completed ahead of schedule. As a result, the remaining daytime traffic impacts scheduled for Sept. 23 and the overnight closure scheduled for Sept. 24 are no longer needed.

The Port of Hood River thanks Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE) and the Port Facilities crew for their hard work in completing this phase early.

The next phase of work, involving bridge steel and coating maintenance repairs, will begin next week.

Bridge Steel and Coating Maintenance Repairs

• Full overnight closures: Sept. 29 through Oct. 12, Monday through Friday, from midnight to 5:30 a.m.

The bridge will be fully closed to vehicle traffic during these hours. Travelers should plan ahead and use an alternate route.

Additional bridge work requiring single-lane closures is expected following the overnight closures. Dates and times are still being confirmed and will be announced as soon as they are available.

The Port appreciates the public’s continued patience and cooperation as crews complete this important maintenance work.
