Megan Channell

The Port of Hood River is excited to welcome Megan Channell to the Port team as the new Waterfront Coordinator! Megan was introduced to Hood River through her love of SUPing and being on the water, and in the last decade has visited Hood River often, moving from SUPing into wing foiling and building community along the way. After 9-years with ODOT as the I5 Rose Quarter Improvement Project Director and successfully launching that project into construction, Megan decided it was time to take on a new challenge and accepted the role as Waterfront Coordinator for the Port of Hood River. With nearly 2 decades of experience in transportation and urban planning, Megan is a great asset to the Port, bringing expertise and passion for creating accessible communities as well as investing in the next generation of thoughtful planners. During her career, Megan has been an active member of WTS International (a professional organization focused on advancing women in the transportation industry) where she previously served as the WTS Portland Chapter President, and in 2025, had the honor of being named the Portland Chapter’s ‘Woman of the Year’. Megan is eager to understand the challenges the Port’s waterfront faces and is hoping to make a positive impact and build strong community partnerships in her role in our local government. Megan has been in Hood River for five years and is excited to call Hood River both home and the community that she works within. When she’s not working, you can find Megan out and about in the community, walking the Indian Creek trail with her dog Minty, playing pickleball with the Gorge Pickleball Association, winging on the river or skiing up on Mt. Hood.
