June 30, 2023 marked the end of Hoby Streich’s service as Commissioner for the Port of Hood River. Elected in 2002, Commissioner Streich spent 20 years, 9 months and 28 days serving the constituents of the Port of Hood River, making him the second longest serving Commissioner in Port history. In honor of his service, Port Commissioners renamed the Bow Hangar at the Ken Jernstedt Airfield to “The Hoby Streich Hangar”. Over the summer of 2025, Airport Manager Jeff Renard unveiled a new plaque, finalizing the passage of Resolution 2022-23-18 and visually recognizing the incredible work done by Mr. Streich for the community.
